A little late in posting from my Friday night efforts
Better late than never Right?

I worked on a couple of quilt tops for the Bushfire quilt drive

During the week I made this little bag

The pattern called it a basket tote

I was a little disappointed as to how small it is although quite roomy inside

I have enlarged the pattern and will tackle a larger version

I certainly wouldn't call it a basket

I have made a boys quilt for the Quilt drive happening at Oz Comfort quilts Blog
Jan put the call out for little boys quilts
I managed to finish it last night when I joined Cheryll and friends for our monthly get together
Now to get it packed and sent though maybe I will do another one before I send it

Slow Progress

Iam slowly getting on with my Girls Day Out

Just need to add borders

Thought you might like to see a model of what they put in Hubbys shoulder

He is coming along slowly and getting frustrated that he cannot get out and do what he wants

I think it is going to be a long haul for a very active man and a wife that has to learn patience

Feb FNSI

Two months of the year almost gone Hard to believe
Last night I joined Wendy and friends for a Friday night sew in

I worked on these two blocks from my Christmas Quilt which I started many moons ago

I do not usually have UFOs but this one seems to becoming one

It is called Angel Wings and is a Fig N Berry design

It is so cute and Iam determined to finish it soon.....Well by next Christmas any way

Hubby seems to be doing ok 

Just have to watch he doesn't over do things

He is not one to sit around so is becoming very frustrated

Tomorrow we go back to see the surgeon and have the stitches out

I haven't seen my Mum for a little while but she seems to be doing ok

The District Nurse is going every day to dress her toe and my sister, Bless her, goes Often

Back Home

A week today since Hubbys op

He is recovering well and doing most things for himself Just has to be careful He doesn't over do it

I managed a little stitching while sitting with him in the hospital and at night in my tiny hotel room

His room at the hospital was bigger than mine

While he was in theatre I took a walk along the Brighton Pier

Since coming home last Saturday I made a cot quilt from a panel that has been sitting in my stash for quite a while

Well best go see what my Patient is up to

Febuary FNWF

Another FNWF has come and gone
Unfortunately I didn't get to much done

I got the Top section of my Girls day out sewn on

I have had a stressful week

My Mum was in hospital in Frankston for her angiogram to fix the blockage in her leg

They kept her there a week and fasted her every day in the hope they would send her to theatre

One night they did send her but sent her straight back to the ward

Any way finally on Wednesday night they did it and sent her home the next morning

My sister is staying with her for a few days

Next week Hubby has to go to Melbourne for a shoulder replacement

It will be an awful time as hubby only has one arm

I have booked into what looks like a very fancy hotel near the hospital so that I will be there to help if necessary

Iam doing my best not to worry to much

Birthdays and Up date on my Mum

Yesterday this little man celebrated his second birthday It has come around so quickly and he has become a very important part of our lives

Yesterday my Mum finally got to see the Cardio Vascular surgeon and by last night she was in Hospital waiting for an angiogram

The past few months have seen my sister and I put our lives on hold to take Mum to various appointments GPs, Wound care nurses, podiatrists, ultra sounds, x- rays, blood tests and the list goes on

Visits from the District nurses every second day to dress her toes

Apart from the DN everything else was a waste of time it seems

At least now she is in the best place for her

Rainy Day

Today we have had some nice rain

Hoping it is going where it is most needed

I have made 40 QAYG blocks, which I hope to get in the mail this week

Today I have put the top section of Girls Day Out together

It is so pretty

I have really enjoyed doing this quilt and will kinda be disappointed to finish it, though excited that Iam nearly there

She was home for a few days but has gone back

QAYG

I have put away my GDO quilt for the moment to make some quilt as you go blocks for the victims of the bushfires devastating our country at the moment

These blocks are quick and easy to make and a good use of scraps

They will be sent to Jan Mac of http://sewmanyquiltstoolittletime.blogspot.com/

Jan will put them together and distribute them to people who have suffered great losses in these fires and I hope will bring them some comfort to know that people really care

My grand daughter left this week to fight the fires in East Gippsland

So proud of her

January 2020 FNWF

The first FNWF for the new year Looking forward to seeing what everyone gets up to this year

I finished the last block in my Girls Day Out quilt

Then I started putting the middle row together I thought all the embroidery was done only to find there are flowers to applique on the corners of the cottage

I have trouble with my fusible web not sticking so Iam going to embroider my roses

I think they will look ok

We are smoked in this morning

My heart goes out to all those affected by our current bush fires

Stay safe every one

Christmas

Christmas was a quiet affair at our place, well my daughters actually
Christmas always evokes memories
Tomorrow will mark nine years since Lorraine's passing Not that I don't think about her everyday

We did have Sam to brighten our day So nice to have a little one around for Christmas He put the hat on himself

So cute

I made a Little Christmas star

And this beauty came from Maria

Latest on my Mum

She is still in heaps of pain and now has ulcers on her toes. We think she must have grazed them in her fall 

District nurse is coming every second day

They are very concerned and now her foot is turning black and yes she is Diabetic

What A Week

My week started with my Mum having a fall and breaking a rib She is in so much pain The doctor upped her pain killers and there isn't much else they can do
My sister and I have been taking it in turns to stay with her as she is very shaken
While

 she rested I took a walk to the OpShop
Very happy with my finds There is probably 8 metres of fabric here It was all bundled together in a bag and I paid $6.00

Also found a little fibre optic Christmas tree Have been

looking for a little one for some time for my Blogger gift ornaments

While at Mums I had plenty of time to stitch

This is the second last block finished and I started the last block

This weekend Iam off to Coleraine for my Great nieces 21st

Dec FNWF

Iam still asking Where has the year gone?
Seems to me we just had Christmas
Last night was our final FNWF for the year
I got a late start because it was my Friday night to have this little Bloke

He is such a joy to have around and loves to help

Got him into bed around 7.30 and he slept for almost 12 hours

I worked on my second last block for my Girls Day Out

Thanks Cheryll for hosting through out the year

Earlier in the day Sam and I went to the park and we were joined by this fellow He was quite large

Sam couldn't take his eyes off him

Me either for that matter

November FNSI

Last night it was cold and I had to light the heater

Unbelievable when so much of Australia is on bush fire alert

I pray these fires will be out soon

I joined in on FNSI once again

First I finished the Teddies block for my Girls Day Out

Then I stitched this perfume bottle which I changed slightly form the pattern

One of the last gifts Lorraine gave me was this butterfly perfume bottle, so I tried to make my stitching similar,

So Aine this block is to remind me of you

Off to see what the rest of you got up to now

Very pleased with these

Fifty years ago tomorrow My first child was born I never knew I could feel such intense love until I held her in my arms for the first time

Sadly she was only on loan to me

I miss her everyday

I loved her every day of her life

I miss her every day of mine

Still I was lucky to have her even for a short time

She brightened my world

NOVEMBER FNWF

Over the last few weeks I have put aside my Girls Day Out to work on some Christmas gifts

Some stitching done

Last night I finished the stitching on this one

Another of Vickie"s Friends cushion stitched

Now to sew them all together and get back to my GDO quilt

Cheryll is inspiring me with this one

Hers looks amazing
