FNSI

 Last night I joined Wendy and the girls for a night of stitching
I didnt get quite as much done as I would have liked because I had an unexpected visit from my ex SIL
I appliqued these pansies for a future project

 Sewed the binding on my latest "Lorraine's Flowers runner and that's about it

 This one is for me I usually make them for special people in my life.

And I received my gifts for Christmas In July swap
Looking forward to opening these

Busy Busy

 Life has been very busy around here Firstly we sold our dairy farm so had to move stuff from there, then we went to a house auction in town and I liked the house so hubby bid on it and we bought it for a retirement home
Now I am sure we will never live in it because Hubby is a workaholic and loves his life on the land and his animals, but one never knows what life brings
We still have a smallish beef farm where we currently live
Any way the house was filthy and I mean Filthy
Dogs inside and smokers
There was some debate as to whether the walls were white or cream under all that smoke I think you can see it in the photo
We have nearly finished cleaning and it has come up very nicely
Ripped up all the carpet and now hubby is laying ceramic tiles
We will soon have to look for tenants .No smokers or pets!!!

 A little sewing has been managed
My friends and I spent a day making hangers for each bed at our local hospital
Another big job

 And a journal cover for my sisters birthday
I have been visiting blogs too so keeping up with what you are all up to

 Last night I joined Cheryll and some friends to get some sewing done

COLOUR SWAP

 My colour swap gifts arrived today
For some time I have been watching Peg's Happy in Quilting Blog and admired the gorgeous things she makes
And now I have some of my very own

Maggie's Angel Quilt

 It was a wet cold miserable day ,so  what is a girl to do
Sew of course
I finally finished Maggie's Angel quilt
Hope to catch up with her next week to give it to her
My grand daughter saw it and admired it then asked if the random butterfly was to cover up a mistake
She knows me well but not this time
Maggies Mum was Lorraine's step DIL and good friend
Bec always says butterflies remind her of Aine and when she gives me a gift it usually has one involved, so I just had to put one on the quilt
Incidently It was cut from a shirt of Lorraine's

Shame I had to go to the dentist
Would have much preffered to be in the garden
Did get the windows cleaned though

Auntie's 80th

 On Saturday night we had a family tea to celebrate my Aunts 80th
Very pleased to say she loved her table runner
Now she is not the only one in the family that does not have one

A little Visitor

 Thought you might like to see who came to visit me today
She was checking out my wood pile

 Then went her merry way up the blackwood tree
She is now spending time in our tree plantation

Still plugging away with Maggie,s Angetl quilt for Fnwf

 Last night I joined Cheyll and the girls for a night of sewing. I started a bit later than I had planned because my daughter and the grandkids dropped over. That did mean some sewing so I guess I can include that in my FNWF. Had to sew on Anthony's footy numbers for his game today Basically  after they left I mainly did lot's of cutting then a bit of sewing
Worked on the Flying geese.

 Made some tiny star blocks All 1/12 inch bits

 Managed to get the flying geese sewn on

 Then today three friends joined me for a craft day We made a tissue box cover and some cards
We did a lot of eating and chatting as well
So all in all had a nice time
Hope you all enjoyed your night as well

A Belated Christmas Gift from Maddy

 

 

Maddy of Woomba Woomba was my partner in Cheryll's Santa Sack swap
She had wanted to make me these special decorations for our swap but her embriodery machine was out of action
So the lovely lady went ahead and made them for me when her machine was operational again
They are so nice

We are in the midst of an unseasonal heat wave
I hate the heat at the best of times but day after day is getting to me
