I cant believe it is almost a month since I have posted
I have to admit I have been feeling a bit down and havent felt like doing much of anything really
Have made a couple of Christmas presents but for some reason I cant get the photos to Blog GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I had a lovely weekend with a couple of friends
We went to Melbourne and attended a High tea party at a ritzy hotel
On Sunday we visited the Tutankhamun exhibition at the Melbourne museum
Very interesting
The only down to the weekend was a friend of a friend who shared a room with us on the Saturday night
She lit a candle at bedtime and listened to soothing music and promtly went to sleep keeping the rest of us awake with the flickering candle and the SNORING
In the morning she was telling us what a bad night she had
Probably because after about an hour I blew out her candle

Tribute

For many years, in fact since I was 10 years old I have had a penfriend in the USA

Georganna has been to visit me in Australia five times and I have been to visit her twice

Meeting her in real life was like meeting a long lost sister

She came to Lyndas wedding .but didnt make it to Aines

She came about two years ago to see Lorraine and say her goodbyes

This week in the mail I received These beautiful quilted pictures that she made

The Breast cancer one is a lovely tribute to my darling girl and a great comfort to me

She doesnt have a blog or email

Shame

How nice it would be to "talk" to her more often

One such friend is Fiona

Fiona designed this lovely table runner, then named it in honour of my beautiful daughter

Her pattern was published in Patchwork and Stitching ,then she sent the original to me as a keepsake

I have made two for family members who will tresure them also as a wonderful keepsake of Lorraine

A finish and a gift

I finished Kitties quilt . Kittie is my adopted great grandchild ,grand daughter of Lorraines husband

I hope to deliver it in the next week or so

I was lucky with my mail this morning

I received this gorgeous bag from Cyndi at Bluebirdswing

I dont know how to do the linky thing but Cyndi makes the loveliest bags

Iam so lucky to now have one of my own

The photo just doesnt do it justice So much better in "the Flesh"

She made it especially for me in my colours

Another Finish

It is freezing!!!!!!!!!

A good day to stay indoors with the fire blazing and sew I actually dont mind days like this At least I can get a bit of me time

Hubby is being a pain though He hates being idle

We have been watching old home movies the last couple of nights So funny and so many forgotten memories.

I finished another scrappy quilt

It will be one for my quilting group to donate to charity

We have four ready now, two of which I have made

Well off to do some sewing and try to keep warm

My dear friend Fee of Designs By Fee has a pattern published in this months edition of Patchwork and Stitching, which is very dear to me

Fee named her beautiful table runner for my dear girl, who as you all know recently lost her battle with cancer

She has called her runner Lorraines Flowers

How special is that?

With much help from my Cyber Angel ,we worked that out then it woulnt let me put photos to my Blog

Decided to give it another go this morning and low and behold it worked

Well I havent tried to publish yet, so my fingers are crossed

I found this little beauty in the Op Shop Well I couldnt just leave it there couldI

The embroidery is just lovely

Today was the warmest we have had all week so I spent it in the garden

Tonight I have a very sore hand

Must have got something in it It is very sore and swollen

Maybe I will just have to spend tomorrow sewing to rest it

I received this lovely parcel from Jill of Jillybeans

Jill does the most beautiful embroidery

I was lucky enough to have her as my partner in a christmas decoration swap a couple of years ago and now I have some more of her lovely work

A seashell bag a gorgeous pink (love Pink) pincushion and the most exquisit embroidered angel which Jill says is in Lorraines memory

Its Cold

The nights have been very cold lately, but as you can see I have been putting my comfort quilts to good use

Thanks again dear Lyn and the girls

I had to buy a new computer

Oh it is so frustrating

Just learnt to find my way around the old one ,now having trouble finding things in this one

Need to remember how to put icons on the screen so I can find my way in with only one click

I like things easy where I dont have to think to much

Happy Mothers Day

My first Mothers day without my Darling girl was very hard and my other daughter had to work

I went to see my Mum and my sister and her family came too, so that was nice

Lynda gave me this Elvis teddy a day early as she was working He is very cute Plays an Elvis tune

You guessed it Iam an Elvis fan

I hope all you Mums ot there had a wonderful Mothers Day

ON THE BLINK

My computer has been on the blink for the past couple of weeks
Just got it back and after a quick look I have lots of catching up to do
Looking forward to seeing what you have all been up to

JUST A LITTLE FLOODAND A NEW BABY

I have been getting up very early these past few weeks to drive No.one grandson to catch a ride to Trade School

Yesterday morning ,after a night of very heavy, very constant rain , we could not get out of our drive way due to the water across the road

By 8.30 it had receded enough for us to get out, but only in hubbys four wheel drive

Very unusual for our part of the world

Our house is on the top of a hill so we were fine .but some of the neighbours werent so lucky

They are all saying how bad it must have been for the people of Qld and Northern Victoria who were much worse off than them , even though some have them have extensive damage

Grandson was two hours late for Trade School and of course missed his ride so I drove him all the way and waited for him to finish at 4.00pm

No real hardship as I got to visit my new "great grandchild "

She is not really my grandchild but her Mum has decided thats what Iam to be

Lorraines husband Jim's son and daughter in law had a beautiful baby girl on Tuesday morning Lorraine was looking forward to being a step grandmum

The babies name is Kittie Elizabeth Jaine

Jane is her Mums name but they chose to spell it this way for My Aine

I was delighted that they chose to do this

Isnt she cute?

Iam making the applique quilt for her bed once she gets into one of course

I have plenty of time to get it finished

Half an album completed

It turned out to be quite a good day yesterday

I did get a bit emotional but it helped that there were other people around

There are so many gorgeous photos of the wedding

My photography skills are not the best, but I hope you can see a little of what I completed

It did help me feel closer to her

Today Iam working in the garden

MEMORANZA DAY

Tomorrow I will be attending National Scrap booking Day

It will be very emotional for me as I will be working on a wedding album for Jim

When Lorraine got married in 2009 I did a wedding album for myself

We were all ways going to work on doing her album together but some how she just never had the energy to do it

A few weeks prior to her leaving us she said " Mum I think you had best do my album for Jim "

So tomorrow I will start This album

I havent been able to bring myself to do it ,So hopefully tomorrow I will make a good start on it

I have some lovely photos to work with and some lovely memories to go with them

It was the happiest day of her life

A few weeks prior to the wedding , she was told that the cancer had spread and she had a brain tumour

She had 13 months of happiness as Jims wife

We miss her so much

A Little Applique

I havent been Blogging much of late

Iam struggling to get on with my life It is very hard

When I first started Blogging I kinda used the writing to help me with my feelings , then Lyn and all the wonderful Bloggers made me the beautiful support quilts

A friend asked me at the time what I wrote on my blog to make people feel so sorry for me that they made the quilts for me

I didnt want people to feel sorry for me so I havent been writing so much about my loss

The other day while reading a friends Blog she wrote how much writing it down helped her, so I have decided I will do a bit more of that It doesnt matter if no one reads it If it helps me then I will do it
