I made her a couple of placemats As Mum says What do I need at 83
Just realised the photo is a little blurry
Mum and her sister are coming to spend the day with me as is my sister
Tonight we will all go out for tea
Lynda and her family will join us And Lorraines husband
During her illness Lorraine never missed one family bithday tea
We will all be missing her tonight
It has hit Mum pretty hard She was always a very active healthy lady
Now she seems like a little old lady
Happy Birthday to your mum! Nice placemats! :0)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your Mum........it is always hard to lose someone but when they are older it gets harder and harder.........
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your mom, it will be hard for a long time....I wish there was something I could say to ease your pain.
ReplyDeleteHello Ilene,
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your Mum,you have made her the perfect present.
Happy Monday.
Bev.xoxo
I'm sure you mum loved those placemats. They are lovely. Hope she enjoyed her birthday dinner outing. My mum is 85 and she just shrugs when I wish her happy birthday and is most ungracious about gifts.
ReplyDeleteIt can be a bit tricky coming up with just the right gift for someone who doesn't need anything, but so worth the effort.
ReplyDeleteI hope you've all enjoyed a day with some new memories made and some fond memories shared. . .
Regards, Sue
Illene, please pass on my happy birthday wishes to your mom! The placemats you made for her are so cute...I'm sure she loved them. And I'm sure that Lorraine was with you all in spirit at the birthday tea!
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Cyndi
Happy Birthday to your mom and I know that Lorraine was sorely missed.

Hi Illene, Happy Birthday to your Mum for yesterday and the placemats you made her are just beautiful. I hope you had a lovely dinner as it would have been so difficult for you all. My thoughts are with you.
ReplyDeleteA lovely, thoughtful gift. So hope it was a nice day for you all, even if tinged with obvious sadness. Happy memories though safely in your hearts. xxx
ReplyDeleteI somehow missed this post Monday. Hope you had a lovely time celebrating your mother's birthday. How nice to have two generations of sisters together for a visit!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! Happy birthday dear mum! ;)
ReplyDeleteIve enjoyed catching up on your blog today. Yes, life does go on.,,, its not ever the same, but it has to go on... Sending a prayer for you. Grewt big hug! Xo
Hi Illene, A belated happy birthday to your Mum. I can agree with you it is sad when we see our parents becoming frail, after being with my elderly parents over the past week I can see that in them.
ReplyDeleteAt least they are still in their own home and apart from all these hospital visits they are in reasonably good health.
Just keep "huggin and luvin"
(((HUGS))) Roz
Going out to tea -- what a nice way to celebrate a birthday! Great placemats, too.
ReplyDeleteThe same thing has happened to my mum. Since losing my son we have had a bad year with her. Her heart is now so worn out she spends most of her time in bed reading. She was very active and now looks a frail old lady. It is sad to watch.
