Putting my many scraps to good use
I made this table cloth for my Mum for Christmas I like the way it turned out
Have also made a couple of scrappy table runners
Will show them at a later date
When Lorraine first got sick she used to walk with me when I walked her dogs, then as she got sicker she rode her bike
Lately, because she cant do anything without the oxygen she has been pretty much house bound unless someone took her out
Last week Jim took her to Melbourne and he bought this motorized three wheel bike,so every day since she has come with me for a walk
She was so happy to be out and about
It has a large basket on the back for her oxygen cylinder
If you didn't know how sick she really is you wouldn't believe it She looks so well
When life gives you scraps . . . think creatively - well done to Jim for thinking of the bike. I hope you and Lorraine enjoy some wonderful moments while you're out on your walk/rides!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet your Mum loves the table cloth (and good on you for stash busting).
Regards, Sue

I love your scrappy table cloth. It's beautiful. I can see that your daughter just loves her bike. It's so nice that she is able to still go out with you.
ReplyDeleteI too like to work with scraps: have a look on my blog under the lable "Resteverwertung", there you can see that even the smallest scraps can be used!! I like your quilt! Much love to you and to your daughter hoping she will be better!

ReplyDeleteHi Illene! That tablecloth is so lovely...I love scrappy, quilty things. I'm sure your mom is going to be thrilled with it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm so happy that Lorraine is able to get out of the house thanks to the motorized bike. I'm sure that really perks her up...I can't even imagine being as sick as she is and then not being able to at least get outside for some fresh air. That's a very sweet photo of her. She will continue to be in my prayers daily!
XOXO,
Cyndi
Helli Illene,

The table cloth looks great, a fantastic feeling when you can use your scraps to make something beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat news for Lorraine to have the bike.
What a beautiful quilt. I admire people who sew. I'm so glad Lorraine has somewhat of her mobility back due to the motorized tricycle...I somewhat know how it feels to be stuck because I was in a wheelchair for over a year and on my own...trying to clean house is next to impossible...but God helped me through it.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend and my prayers go to your friend.
What a wonderful quilt you made. Great that you were able to use your scraps for other quilts. I have heard more about people doing more handmade gifts this year for Christmas. I think that is the way to go if you are a sewer or crafter. Good to hear that Lorraine was able to enjoy the outdoors. She look very happy and one would never know that she is ill.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to her and you.
