Last night I stitched along with the girls for our Friday night sew in
First chance I have had to post what I got up to
I worked on this little stitchery

Very pleased with the way it is coming along

Went to the footy to watch GS play footy and GD play netball

Now that they are growing up it seems to be the only time I really get to catch up with them

Tomorrow I will be around to see what the rest of you got up to last night

My Grandmothers Sewing Machine

My Grandmothers sewing machine is now mine

She has been sitting in my Aunts shed for many years and now has come to live with me

My grandmother was born in 1900 and died in 1938 leaving behind a nine year old... my Mum

and her sister aged 4

I googled the serial number and this Singer was manufactured in 1910 in Clydebank Scotland

Fitting I think that it is now mine as Iam the only grand child who sews and I was named for my grand mother.

The unusual spelling of my name Illene obviously dates back many years

Iam very happy to have my grandmothers machine in my home

 

Secret Sewing for FNSI

Cannot show what I did last night when I joined with Wendy and friends for some stitching because SHHHHHH It is a secret.

I can

show the fabric I used and pleased to say I have one item finished for my Christmas in July swap gift
Been to footy today to watch my GS get soundly beaten in his game and my GD played netball She was beaten too but at least a score went on the board. Will say no more
It was a glorious day at Phillip Island The weather this past week has been awful, so it was nice that I did not freeze at the footy today

My Mum is home from hospital and doing okay now that her pain seems to be under control at last

Wendy's design for FNSI

Life has been pretty hectic around here so last night it was lovely to sit down and stitch along with Wendy and friends
I had some stitcheries done so last night made a couple of completed items

I saw this design of Wendy Bertello's in a magazine prior to ANZAC day last year and it has been on my to do list

Wendy's design was appliqued but I chose to stitch it

Very happy with the result Hope Wendy is too

My Mum

Thanks for all the lovely messages re my Mum

She was fine after her fall but four days later could not get out of bed

Luckily she has  her metpac buzzer She was taken by ambulance to hospital and had has been there ever since

 Doctor Arrogant  said it was her sciatica and she would have to just get used to it as it would keep happening and not much they can do because she is 87

I hope one day he gets to feel that sort of pain

The next doctor who was quite lovely said it was a crumbling disc in her back

I questioned as to wether maybe she had a hairline fracture OH No way It is the disc

Moved from  Emergency to the ward and they gave her a scan (Third since her first fall) and now it is a fracture

Maybe I should have been the doctor

She was treated with pain killers

Today she was moved to Rehab

I have been over every day so nothing much happening on the sewing front

Once again, last night I joined with Cheryll and friends for a lovely night of stitching
Not that I got much stitching done, just some preparation really

I have been stitching Michelle's Calendar bear quilt from Country Threads magazine. These three I have already done

Last night I traced April and a coat hanger

And sorted fabric for a quilt from Patchwork and Quilting magazine that the girls at my quilting group are going to work on this year

It is a block of the month We are already three months behind

Iam off to see my Mum today

She had another fall yesterday, her second in three months

 

Danielle's Presentation Ball

Last night we attended our beautiful granddaughters Deb Ball

For a  time it did not look like she would make it as she spent the previous two days in hospital with suspected appendix problems

After some tears she was allowed out for the night

She was still in some pain but got through the night

Thanks Wendy for hosting what was for me a very productive night.

I completed these stitcherys while away in the caravan last week
Last night they became shoe bags
My DD liked my shoe bag but said she didn't want one with a poxy shoe, so I hope she likes her boot
Also made one for my GD and one for the present box
Off to see what others got up to last night

Initial Heart

Returned home from a short break in our caravan to find this beautiful heart waiting for me
Unfortunately I have no idea who sent it as the card, which was also beautifully made was blank
A return address on the envelope tells me it came from Newtown in Qld
I do hope my partner will identify herself as I love to get to know my swap partners
Anyway A BIG thank you I love it. My favourite colour too

I managed a bit of stitching while away. They will be used in future projects

Also got to do some Op Shopping and was delighted with the fabric I found Over 6 metres for $10.00 Bargain

We are Off

Tomorrow we are off on a little trip up the coast
Van is packed and ready to go

Second Finish for 2015

Last night I sewed along with Wendy and friends for 2015s first FNSI and what fun it was to see you all again

I had the blocks done for this runner so last night put it together and got it finished

Been helping hubby net the fruit trees today, then I  walked the dog to get the mail

Didn,t have time to get it yesterday

First time in my life I have been "spoken too" by a policeman

Naughty girl

A new restaurant opened in our little town about 18 months ago

Quite trendy and popular with visitors

You can sit outside and drink your coffee

Trouble is our footpath is very narrow and between the stool they put along one wall and tables next to the street, it does not leave much room to walk between and when there are four big dogs tied to the table legs my little dog refuses to walk there She has been attacked by big dogs on several occasions, so I find it easier to walk on the edge of the road

Mr Policeman was not impressed

Gave me a big toot from behind then shook his finger at me

I walked up to his car window and asked him where he wanted me to walk since I could not walk on the path

Don't think he expected me to say any thing Told me" well you cant walk on the road" and why couldn't I walk on the path I told him to take a look and he told me to be aware then drove off and did a U turn and went back where he came from

Mind you there was a car parked across the disabled parking spot, loading a bed on his ute

When he saw me being spoken to he drove away very quickly and did not secure his load

I was not impressed and Mr policeman did not see him as he drove past

My whinge for today

No More a UFO

My GD came over tonight and sorted me out re the photos

Have been working on this quilt for many years

No idea why I never finished it because I really like it

So happy with the way it turned out

Now I am up to date with my UFO's

What to start on next?

I need Help

But this is nothing new when it comes to computers
Recently I asked my GD to print off a Facebook photo for me
I don't know what she did but now I cannot get photos to load on my Blog or Facebook page
I usually just press link then " my pictures" then the photos open up and I upload
Now a folder appears showing two photos and that is as far as I can go Can any one help me please
My GD has gotten herself a part time job and I do not get to see her much at present and what is a Blog post without photos?
I have a couple of finishes to show
Would be most grate full for any advice

I think I have lost a year some where
Honestly I do not know where 2014 went
Iam sadly lacking in motivation at the moment. Seems to happen to me every year at this time
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and that 2015 will be kind to you
We had a lovely family Christmas
Actually went out for Christmas lunch to the local club Have to say it was lovely. No one had to do any thing. First time we have done that
No sewing to show Hope my Mojo comes back soon
I did recycle all of my old Christmas cards prior to Christmas
I hate computers!!

There were a few other things as well but I must have forgotten to photo graph them

Last FNSI for 2014

Once again stitched along with Wendy and the girls for our last get together for the year
Sometimes the best laid plans go astray and like Wendy I got called out for a while, so did not get as much done as I hoped
Hope all is good Wendy
Our local Publican rang to say no one had turned up to do the Pub Friday night raffle so I went and sold tickets in aid of the local Hospital
Came home and did some quilting on my nearly finished UFO quilt
Love this quilt so do not know why I have taken so many years to get to it
I usually do not have UFOS
