Making Roads

Last night it was wet cold and windy. What better way to spend the evening than to sit by a warm cosy fire and join the FNSI girls for a night of stitching

I added a border to Sam's quilt

White lines on the road. Forty of them.  Iam about half way through. Back to it tonight.

Iam going down later and will get a photo of the back Did try to do it with the other post but couldn't get a decent photo with the Tablet.  As I said "still learning"
Also I have to work out how to reply to your messages since that was changed too
Too old for all this learning
Any way basically you cut the front off a shirt.... I was lucky to find two really good quality black cotton shirts at the Op Shop.... leaving it buttoned up you use it as the opening for your cushion cover
Very neat and easy as I cannot do a zip to save myself
Not very good at explaining but will put a photo up later today hopefully
It was the first time I have tried this and will be doing it again
You can also leave the pocket on if you wanted and use it to store the remote

FNWF AUGUST

Last weekend when my daughter came to visit she had a picture of a cushion that she wanted me to make for her.

So last night I made this for her. She is coming for lunch today so I hope she likes it. She wants another one with the penguin facing the other way. I used the shirt method to make the back. I found two matching black shirts in the Op shop. I will use this idea again

I am still learning how to use this Tablet. Taking forever to do this post

July FNSI

It has been a while since I joined Wendy and friends for a stitching evening Life gets so busy sometimes
Don't know how I ever found time to work

I worked on quilting my Aussie quilt

This quilt has been a long time in the making with lots of reverse sewing because the pattern ended up so long and narrow, then the designer decided not to produce patterns for the borders

Pleased to say the end is near

No 2 grandson celebrated his 21st birthday two weekends back

And I got to babysit this little fellow while the young ones celebrated

He was such a good boy 

He is welcome back anytime

Off to do some more on my Quilt

July FNWF

Seems I only post when I join with friends for a night of stitching ask did last night. I worked on a quilt for Sam who I get to babysit tonight. This is my first post with my new tablet. See how it works 

FNWF for June

Friday night was our monthly get together with crafting friends
Once again thanks to Cheryll for inviting us

I did a little knitting

Long time since I have knitted but I enjoyed it

A jumper for this little fellow who is now 4 months old and growing madly

Such a good little man

Then I did some scrap booking

A very enjoyable evening

A small finish and a break away

A bit slack on the Blogging front

I finished a table runner for my nephews girlfriend 

Pleased to say she loved it

Hubby and I managed a few days away

Went up the coast to Eden Perfect weather and had a lovely break and NO the graffiti was not my work

Last night I joined Wendy and friends world wide for a night of stitching

I decided my Australiana quilt needed state names , so I worked on them Not so easy when the quilt is sewn together, but I managed

Also did a little work on the new border

Where on earth does the time go?
For FNSI I asked for advice on my Australiana quilt
I have decided to go with an appliqued border of native birds and flowers

Last night I got some applique ready and did a little blanket stitch on one

Then I made another snowflake for a friend who gifted me a the green fabric It is sparkly which does not show up in the photo

Today we are going to get some wood

Keeping warm is hard work

I will be back over the weekend to see what every one else got up to

FNSI March And I need your Opinion

Last night when I joined Wendy and world wide friends for a stitching night I worked on my Australiana Quilt

This quilt was a row by row block of the month from Sue of Quilted Hugs by Sue

She faithfully gave the rows every month But then she decided to let us do our own Borders

I have a few ideas floating around in my head

I had these blocks left over from another project and thought they might work

Layng them out on my design floor Iam not so sure

I would really value your opinions please

What are your thoughts I wont be offended

I made an Easter basket for little Samuels first Easter and a birthday card for a dear friend Not all last night either LOL

March (already) FNWF, Mums 90th and Five Generations

Finished this Shamrock table runner last night when I stitched along with worldwide friends

The best thing about these sewing nights is that it makes me Blog

There are now 5 Generations in our family

My Mum turned 90 last week and we had a family celebration lunch

My grandchildren and my daughter decided I needed to get with the times so they gave me an iPhone 6 for Christmas
Iam loving it BUT there are some things I cannot figure out
I wanted to put my Blog on there so I typed in the Blog name but that is all I get Just my posts Cannot see anything else No other posts and cant do anything on it Just look

I had no Internet yesterday so could not show what I did for our Friday night sew in
I always have a tablecloth or placemats on my table
I only have one set of placemats which were made for me some years ago by our lovely hostess Wendy
I needed a spare set for when they are in the wash so when my sister gave me this Elvis fabric for my birthday I thought they would make great placemats

We are in the middle of a little heat wave Hoping today will bring some relief
My first great grandchild was due yesterday but it seems he is in no hurry to make his presence known

First FNWF for 2018

This little fellow came for a visit yesterday afternoon

Pleased to say he just passed through

I know he could have had fun digging in my garden

Last night I joined Cheryl and friends for the first get together for 2018

I put this Michelle Ridgeway designed shoe bag together

I had prepared the stitchery ahead of time

It is for a friend who requested one when she saw one I had made a while ago

I gave one in our Quilt group Khris Kringle and the recipient loved it'

Even rang the next day to thank me again

Off to see what everyone else got up to

A hot one predicted here today so inside stitching with the air con for me I think

No Fuss Christmas Swap

I joined only one Christmas swap this year

A tin of jelly beans

And this gorgeous bag

It is beautifully made and comes with a Christmas button on the zipper pull

FNSI FIrst there was one

A little while ago our lovely FNSI host The beautiful Wendy shared a tutorial on Facebook to make these fabric snowflakes

My niece saw them when I shared the post and wanted one

Then her Mum decided she would like one as well

So THEN THERE WERE TWO

Now I have to make myself one
