Foster Show
Last weekend the annual Foster Show was held
Danielle (my GD) rode in the Grand Parade
A group of local artists got together and made horse rugs to honour Horses in War
Danielle and some of her friends were asked to dress in military uniform and lead the grand parade
She looked so cute in the uniform, but found it very itchy and she now sympathises with our brave soldiers

We enjoyed watching her ride around the oval and I think the show was a success

It's been a While
It has certainly been a while between posts
Have been a bit unwell" Gall stones"
Feeling some what better now thank goodness
I had my gall bladder removed about 35 years ago, so could not believe I had stones after all this time
I knew you could still get them but after all this time Really?
Have not done much on the sewing front.
I did complete this quilt magic thingy A gift for a friend
Hopefully I will be back on a more regular basis now I am feeling better

Hubbys father passed away many years ago in Dec
I lost my daughter this same month
Hubby had a serious accident 20 years ago
This last year Lorraine's old horse had to be put down The last of Her pets He lived a long life 35 years
Our nephew passed away the week before Christmas 2015

How Sweet is That
Today I had to go to a friends funeral She was only 51
Needless to say I was feeling a bit down, but when Hubby collected the mail I received a lovely surprise which Cheered me up no end
Just look what the gorgeous Maria from Life on the Block sent me to keep me entertained while I recuperate from my knee surgery

A little win and post op news
I was the lucky October winner of Cheryll's FNWF
Look at this lovely parcel of goodies
that was waiting for me when I came home from hospital
The best medicine that made me smile
thank you so much Cheryll
I have very little black in my stash so this is perfect
My Op last Monday went very well
I was up walking with a frame hours after surgery and walking with crutches the very next day
The pain I had before surgery seems to be gone Now it is mainly stiffness around the knee which is very swollen
I had three nights in hospital and home on the fourth day
Taking it easy Little walks, some exercises then iceing the knee afterwards
The days are long, but Iam getting better each day Have to go for physio tomorrow
Hubby is looking after me well

Sewing with Wendy and Friends
Some months ago the girls in my quilting group all made a couple of blocks for a charity quilt The only stipulation was it had to be 12 inches square
No one put their hand up to quilt it so Maureen and I travelled to the next town where they have a long arm quilt machine at the Community House
We had a great time playing around with it and were pretty happy with the finished result

At a cost of $16 I think I will be using this machine again sometime
Looks a bit wonky in the photo It isn't really
Another block in my Lasting Legacy block of the month quilt featured in Patchwork and Stitching magazine
Thanks again Wendy for hosting

Playin
A Michelle Ridgeway design
Very pleased with it, though I just noticed I put one heart in side ways
Did you know that the Amish make a mistake in a quilt on purpose because only God is perfect
Believe me I do not have to do it on purpose

I have been very slack on the Blogging front Life seems to be so busy
Have been running grandkids about, Seeing my Mum, who had a skin cancer removed from her leg and even managed a little holiday
My quilting friend Maureen and I went on a coach tour to a Country Music Stampede at Barham
We had the loveliest time
Our friend Anne was supposed to come with us but got a virus and was to sick so we tried to include her
