QUIET

It is so quiet here tonight The two Mums picked their little Darlings up today
I do love having the kids around Mess and all I will probably do some more work on my mystery quilt Got the next installment during the weekShould get the first of the blocks made so maybe will have some photos tomorrow

REFLECTIONS OF A SMART NAN
author unknown
WHEN MY OWN KIDS WERE YOUNGER I HAD LITTLE TIME TO PLAY
THE ENDLESS CHORES AND HOUSEWORK SEEMED TO DOMINATE MY DAY
BUT NOW THAT I'M A GRANDMOTHER TO MY DELIGHT I'VE FOUND
I'M SMARTER BY A COUNTRY MILE THE SECOND TIME AROUND
I DON'T GET IN A LATHER IF THE IRONING ISN'T DONE
THE PRECIOUS EARLY CHILDHOOD YEARS WERE MEANT FOR HAVING FUN
IT DOESN'T BOTHER ME A LOT IF THINGS ARE IN A MUDDLE
WE HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO LIKE PADDLING THROUGH A PUDDLE
LIKE DONNING COATS AND GUMBOOTS AND WALKING IN THE RAIN
AND WATCHING BOATS OF AUTUMN LEAVES GO SWIRLING DOWN THE DRAIN
LIKE READING BOOKS AND PLAYING BALL AND CRAWLING ROUND THE FLOOR
OR PLAYING GAMES OF HIDE AND SEEK BEHIND THE KITCHEN DOOR
LIKE SUMMER PICNICS AT THE BEACH AND CASTLES IN THE SAND
A TIRED TODDLER ON MY KNEE A CHUBBY CLINGING HAND
WHEN THEY GROW UP THEY WON'T RECALL IF THE HOUSE WAS SPIC AND SPAN
THEY WILL JUST REMEMBER ALL THE FUN THEY HAD WITH GOOD OLD NAN

Yes grandchildren are wonderful little people to have around, I love all mine to bits and do loads of stuff with them. The best bit is they accept you for what you are. xxx
