A day at the Prom

A warm day here Lorraine has been sick of staying at home looking at four walls so we decided to go and see the family camping at Wilsons Promontory National park about a 40 minute drive away
Now Iam not a beach lover being more than happy to stay at home with the air con but do like to see the grandkids when I can So off we went
Hubby went snorkelling with Brendan
Lorraine had a lovely time in the water so it was well worth taking her
I walked on the beach and got sunburnt legs I am always careful not to burn to much My skin is very fair
The girls and the grandkids inherited Hubbys lovely olive complextion and tan easily
SIL and myself only got wet up to our ankles
He is fair skinned also
I guess it wasn't to bad a way to spend a summers day

Santas

My friend Sue came the other night with these cute Santa felt serviette holders for the Christmas table

She only made me two because she was sure I would want to make some myself

So simple but so effective

It is warming up here ,but not too too hot yet Thank Goodness

I have been spending a lot of time at Lorraine's while Jim is at work

She is still so tired and lethargic

More Advent Gifts and MORE sewing Wow

I made a quick and easy table runner this week
It made me feel better that I have actually made the effort to do something on the sewing front
Am also feeling a bit more excited about Christmas Yesterday I had some retail therapy and actually got some christmas presents
My advent gifts this week have been a little different Great ideas for small gifts I have enjoyed all my gifts so far
Lorraine and Jim just paid us a short visit Poor girl The virus of last week has left her so lethargic and she is falling asleep while you are talking to her She can't sleep at night though
Lynda and her family set off this morning for two weeks camping at the Wilson's Promontory National park< about 40 minutes drive from here
Hopefully the weather will be kind to them ,though the kids will swim no matter what the weather does
Weather permitting we will go there for Christmas and have a very simple meal with all the family
If the weather isn't kind we will enjoy a very simple meal at my house
So long as we are all together it doesn't matter
Here in our part of Victoria it is always hard to pre plan any out door activities

And some more Advent gifts
So much fun

Go and visit Jill She is new to blogging and I'm sure would love to have you drop by and say Hello
Apologies to Jules and Jill. The phantom editor did a bit of housekeeping and accidentally threw your comments out.

Christmas Gifts

This is the lolly wreath I received as my Kris Kringle gift at our Quilting breakup
It is simple to make
Wire or wire coat hanger formed into a cicle, then twist some pipe cleaner around and hot glue the lollies and any other decorations
Easy
I took part in a christmas ornament swap at Clares Craftroom and Daisy Quilts and this is the lovely ornamentand card I received from Jill
She is new to blogging and I will put her address on next entry so you can go say hello

And some more advent gifts I love the little gingerbread man with my name on it

Lorraine is home from hospital and feeling a little better though somewhat drained

Thankyou all for your concern

We had a lovely meal and exchanged gifts
I got a handmade wreath full of lollies
I made a pattern folder which I have posted a photo of some time ago

My Advent Gifts

I have been really slack in posting photos of my lovely Advent gifts, received from Stacie
In fact I have been slack at a lot of things lately Some of the girls have lost their Mojo To be honest I,m not sure what a mojo is but I have definately lost it
So slack in the Christmas shopping department , that the way Iam going the Grandchildren will be getting money
I don't really like giving money and usually I love Christmas shoppingPosted by Picasa

Day 1 was an American quilting magazine
Day 2 foot cream and socks
Day 3 yummy pastries
Day 4 Note pad and fridge shopping list
Day 5 Skin care products and christmas plant picks

My gifts from my Stitchers Angel arrived today

Very true

Hubby is feeling quite well after his angiogram of last week
Lorraine is not doing so well
Results of her scans were both good and bad

THE SMILES TELL THE STORY

More photos

SHARING A FEW MORE WEDDING PHOTOS
I gave my camera to my 15 year old nephew and told him to take a few photos
He took over 350 I promise I wont bore you with them all but will share a few over the next few days
We got home from Melbourne late this afternoon Hubby had his angiogram yesterday and stayed in Hospital overnight
They found one blockage in one artrie which is why he had been so breathless this past month
They put a stent in and think he will be ok
He has a family history of heart problems and apart from high blood pressure no other contributing factors
He has to take it easy for a couple of weeks
I'm guessing I will be doing a lot of nagging in that time
Lorraine went to Peter Mac today for scans and MRI's
She will have results on Friday They are looking to see if the radiation has done its job and if it has spread anywhere else
Looking at her its hard to believe she is so ill

Treasures

My hubby just loves to go to Garage Sales Auctions Clearing Sales Trash and Treasure
You know the sort of thing I mean One mans trash is another mans treasure
He often finds "treasures', for instance the lawn mower I have been using for a number of years, he bought at a farm Clearing sale for $2.00
He bought it home, spent a couple of days working on it and it now works a treat
I don't usually let him go to these things without me because I never know what he will bring home( and sometimes I even find some goodies myself)
Last Sunday I was busy so he took our two grandsons to an auction
He brought Anthony a printer which is not compatible with his laptop and some huge speakers His Mum was very impressed NOT
But look what he came home with for me
An antique pool table, a new TV cabinet (which is actually very nice except our video and DVD wont fit in the spaces so they are perched on top
And lastly all these lovely indian statues for my garden
The bottom picture shows my cowboy and indian that are there already
Now they will have company The indians can have a powwow
Actually I do like them and Im sure will look very nice when I get them sorted
